1. Project Background and Objective

Dar Zhor is an integrative medicine space dedicated to providing free support to patients during and after cancer treatment, for a period ranging from 6 months to one year.

The aim of our approach is to place the individual back at the center of the care process, by taking into account their human, social, emotional, and professional reality.

The activities we offer do not replace medical treatments. Rather, they aim to strengthen patients’ resilience, improve their quality of life, and reduce the psychosocial impact of cancer.

2. Achievements – January to June 2025

Increase in the number of beneficiaries
Over the past six months, we have seen a significant increase in the number of patients supported by Dar Zhor.

This progress is largely due to a strategic initiative led by our project manager, who developed a supportive care prescription form. This tool was shared with our partner oncologists to:

  • Remind them of the importance of prescribing supportive care alongside conventional treatments;
  • Encourage them to refer their patients to Dar Zhor for a personalized support journey.

Art & Health Day – May 17, 2025
In an effort to raise awareness of the positive impact of supportive care, Dar Zhor organized a special Art Therapy Day. The event brought together patients, healthcare professionals, artists, researchers, and representatives from other associations.

Highlights of the day included:

  • Theater performance : 8 Dar Zhor beneficiaries performed a deeply moving play addressing topics such as early screening, diagnosis, and the impact of treatment on family dynamics. The audience experienced both laughter and tears, touched by the authenticity of the testimonies.
  • Art therapy workshops : Painting, singing, improvisation, and Chi Qong allowed participants to experience firsthand the mental and physical benefits of art.
  • Patient panel : Several beneficiaries shared powerful testimonies about the transformative effects of art therapy during their treatment journey.
  • Guest speaker from Tunisia, a patient expert and author, presented her book written after her cancer journey, emphasizing the role of art in personal healing.
  • Photo exhibition by Zakaria Trombati, a professional photographer and cancer survivor, who shared his artistic work portraying patients in treatment. He explained how the project was therapeutic both for him and for those he photographed.
  • Presence of the President of MoMASC (Moroccan Association of Supportive Care). On this occasion, Dar Zhor began the process to become an active member of this organization, which is affiliated with MASC International, to further enhance our knowledge and align with international standards in supportive care.

3. Funding Needs

Your financial support would enable us to:

  • Strengthen coordination with our network of partner oncologists;
  • Expand our capacity for personalized patient care;
  • Organize larger thematic events (like the Art & Health Day);
  • Create educational materials (video capsules, brochures) on supportive care;
  • Provide training for our staff and volunteers based on international best practices.

4. Expected Impact

Thanks to this project, patients supported by Dar Zhor:

  • Regain a better quality of physical, mental, and social life;
  • Return more quickly to their professional and family lives;
  • Reduce the psychosocial and economic burden of the disease on themselves and society;
  • Build greater autonomy and resilience in facing the illness and its treatments.

By supporting our mission, you contribute to a model of care that is human-centered, holistic, and resilient.

We thank you for taking the time to review this report and sincerely hope to count on your support to continue and expand our impact for those affected by cancer.
