Challenge

The village is female dominated and over 60% of the households are headed by women. Women in this community find it so hard to get seeds for cultivation and that leaves them have one meal a day, majority of their children in this community don't go to school because mothers don't earn so that they can able to support their children in school.

Solution

The project will provide milk that will improve the nutrition of the children as well as provide a stable cash flow to the women, which will be earned from selling milk, beef, and skin. Balawoli has a regional goat market where buyers from most parts of the country come to buy the goats, women will be able to participate in that market. The droppings of the goat will be used for manure which will also be used as manure for their gardens.

Long-Term Impact

The long-term plan of this project is to grow from 30 women to 120 women, There will be a formation of a cooperative, to start up a dairy shop, a butchery, and a goat skin stall which will all be providing income for the women and their families
