Zambezi Sawmills Community school management have not stayed back to wait for support from well-wishers- African Impact Foundation to help raise funds for the new classroom block. From the little coins that the children pay towards their school fees have managed to purchase pan bricks. This is what the headmistress had to say about the importance of enough classrooms “Being an effective teacher begins with enough time a teacher spends with student in a classroom. Most students respond positively to attending school when they have a safe learning environemnt and when they have enough time in school. In turn this will a teacher have a structure in a classroom, which help children to realise how important it is to have such a structure, especially those who have little structure and stability in their home life. A structure classroom often translates to a safe classroom, one where students can enjoy themselves and focus on learning. In a structured learning environment, students are more likely to thrive and experience personal and academic growth.”
Once this classroom block is finished it will enable the school to accomodate more children and also increase teacher pupil contact in terms of hours.
