Challenge

At least 2,000 neglected elderly individuals are suffering from starvation and poor health in the Guntur region. Many of these elderly people live alone in huts without any care or support. Self-cooking is physically challenging and often impossible for them. Due to the impact of COVID-19,along with other hardships and unemployment, it has become very difficult for them to obtain even a single meal from the community. The lack of adequate nutrition is leading to a decline in their quality of life

Solution

This micro project provides daily nutritious meals to 50 destitute elderly individuals in a remote village for a period of three months. The elderly are able to have timely meals every day without begging or depending on others who do not take care of them. The selected elderly individuals are improving their health conditions, both physical and psychological, gaining confidence, and becoming more capable of taking care of themselves. To helps create dignity and protection for the elderly

Long-Term Impact

Fifty neglected elderly individuals from Pallekona village in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, will access daily meals from a community kitchen. This initiative aims to provide them with protection, respect, and responsibility while fostering a sense of love and care among each other. As they collectively experience joy and happiness, their overall health will improve. This program is designed to increase the life span of those at risk of starvation by promoting better healthy habits.
