Tamar operates a Drop-in Center in the Redlight-District. Our Center there needs some upgrades, especially we need to change the electrical wiring from single-phase to three-phase set up to continue to safely run the aircon units and other electrical needs. We have the money for most of the upgrades saved (New Aircons, renovation of bathroom, new paint) but are needing about 8500 USD more for the electrical project. Would you be able to help us? It will provide us with a safe place to host the women that are in need of our help. Our Drop-in Center offers not only free English Classes, a place to rest and people to talk too but we also plan to offer health classes, counseling and a place for the women to sleep after the upgrade.
With stable electricity and new aircon Units the building will be more comfortable for the women to visit us. On the top floor the meeting room will look much better with some fresh paint and we are building a sleeping room for women that are tired on the second floor as well. Right now women sleep on couches in a bigger room but we want to give them the privacy of a separate room.
Our goal for the women is to leave Pattaya, maybe return to their families and to have a normal life outside of the sex industry. We will train the women job skills and help them to find employment or help them to start their own small business so that they can provide for themselves and their children. Also, when they return to their families, they will help to prevent other young girls and boys to start a work in the sex industry.
