Your gifts MATCHED for desperate koalas!

Your gifts MATCHED for desperate koalas!

Summary

Every time a displaced, injured or sick koala is reported to WIRES Wildlife Rescue, a critical alert is sent so help can reach them without delay. These alerts come through almost daily and they are always heartbreaking. Blinded by chlamydia, attacked by introduced predators, hit by cars, malnourished, dehydrated and displaced through loss of habitat, every koala is now vital for the future of their species. This project will support our Emergency Rescue Team to assist native wildlife.

Challenge

Koalas in Australia are suffering. Now listed as Endangered in NSW and Queensland, they are the victims of disease, introduced predators and horrendous habitat loss.

Solution

For a short time, a generous major donor has offered to match your donations, up to a total value of AU $10,000! Your tax-deductible gift today will help us provide swift aid to koalas in desperate need. It will help resource our fleet of six fully equipped emergency rescue vehicles so help can be deployed without delay and it will keep our Wildlife Rescue Office open 24/7 every day of the year - for koalas and all of Australia's desperate wildlife.

Long-Term Impact

WIRES is also funding a range of critical programs to help secure the survival of koalas. We have established a new Koala Rehabilitation facility, run specialist koala courses for our volunteers so they have expert koala handling skills, and we are funding vital breeding programs and research into koala disease. The gift you make today will DOUBLE the impact our vital work has on desperate koalas and it will help us provide swift aid to koalas in desperate need.
