We planted 50 fruit trees in our development centres (catholic missions) with the objective of improving the diet and income of the students and communities. The students of our Estaquinha’s Agrarian Institute carried out this activity. The action is the result of donations made on the GlobalGiving platform. Until August 175 dollars were refunded, equivalent to 11,060 meticais (MZN).
With this money, we could have planted 70 fruit trees, but the living costs resulting from the inflation increase rate created obstacles. Therefore, we managed to plant 50 trees at a cost of 125 dollars equivalent to 7900 meticais (MZN). The remaining 50 dollars, corresponding to 3060 meticais were spent in transporting the trees from our logistic headquarters (Beira) to Estaquinha.
