Summary
VOICE Trust continues to support 22 children with disabilities from highly vulnerable backgrounds through our Special School program. With consistent therapy, special education, and family support, we are witnessing life-changing progress—children once isolated or bedridden are now showing mobility, communication, and social improvements.
The Challenge
All 22 children come from low-income families, primarily dependent on daily wages. Access to therapy and inclusive education remains extremely limited. Many children were either confined to their homes or excluded from schools due to lack of support and awareness.
Our Approach
We provide a holistic care model including:
Individualized special education
Physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy
Nutritional support
Parent counseling and training
Inclusive and safe learning environment
Stories of Transformation
1. Arjun (Age 9) – From Bedridden to Movement
Arjun was completely bedridden when he joined our program. He had minimal muscle control and could not even lift his neck. His parents, daily wage laborers, had lost hope as they could not afford therapy.
After consistent physiotherapy and care:
Arjun can now lift his neck independently
He is showing gradual improvement in upper body control
He responds better to stimuli and engages with caregivers
For his family, this small milestone is a huge breakthrough—bringing renewed hope and emotional strength.
2. Kavya (Age 7) – From Autism Support to Mainstream School
Kavya was diagnosed with autism and had difficulty with communication, focus, and social interaction. She struggled to adapt to structured learning environments.
With regular therapy, special education, and guided interventions:
Kavya developed improved communication and behavioral regulation
She began participating in group activities
She successfully transitioned to a mainstream (regular) school
This transition marks a significant milestone—not only for Kavya but as a model of what early intervention can achieve.
3. Behavioral Improvements Across Children
Several children in the program have shown notable behavioral changes, including:
Reduced anxiety and aggression
Improved attention span and response to instructions
Better interaction with peers and caregivers
Parents report that children who once struggled with daily routines are now more responsive, calm, and engaged.
Activities During This Period
Daily special education sessions for all 22 children
Regular physiotherapy, speech, and occupational therapy sessions
Nutritional support provided throughout the program
Parent counseling sessions to improve home-based care
Use of assistive learning tools and therapy equipment
Impact Achieved
Significant physical progress in children with mobility challenges
Successful mainstream school integration for a child with autism
Noticeable behavioral improvements in multiple children
Increased confidence and hope among parents
Challenges
Limited transportation for children with severe disabilities
Financial constraints in expanding therapy services
Continued social stigma in communities
Way Forward
Strengthen therapy services for children with severe conditions
Introduce accessible transportation support
Expand early intervention programs
Support more children in transitioning to mainstream education
Conclusion
Every small step—lifting a neck, speaking a word, adapting to a classroom—is a powerful milestone for children who once had no access to care. These transformations are possible only because of sustained support and belief in their potential.
Your contribution is helping rewrite these children’s futures—one breakthrough at a time.
We are looking for vehicle support, because its hard for the parents to avail public transport, they are facing a lot of practical difficulties. Your support means a lot for these Children.
Thank you for your continued support.
