I love watching pictures of friends who are showing the first pictures of their baby. A rozy cheeked little bundle of joy, being showered with love and everything else that is needed. I love watching my own pictures when I was a baby. Smiles and love all around.
But imagine if your first baby picture is like the picture which comes with this report.....
Little baby N. was found like this. Around 40 km away from our office. Found at the bottom of a cliff, a known place for "disposing" of unwanted babies. Most babies will not survive this place.
But just after baby boy N. was abandoned, a farmer passed by and heard the baby cry. He could have walked away and just ignore the cries, but he searched where the crying came from and found baby N. The compassionate farmer took the baby to the nearby health center who admitted the baby and gave it the necessary treatment. The health center informed social services and we were informed about the baby. We immidiately got involved with supplying baby formula and clothes to the health center and the family tracing was started. After a few days baby N. was well enough to come to us, where he was taken into our baby house in Grace Village, the residential care facility of Abraham's Oasis. Unfortunately 2 days later he became sick again and spent a few days in a clinic, but the beginning of the week he came back to us and is doing very well. A sad beginning of a life but we hope that with all the love and care he receives in Grace Village, he will thrive and grow up to be a special person.
We will continue to look for his family as we also know that behind abandonments there are often sad stories and these families need our help and where possible this baby deserves to grow up within his family.
Thank you for helping us care!
