We are proud to announce our partnership with Conservation Lower Zambezi to support the Kufadza Scouts in Lower Zambezi, Zambia. The Kufadza Scouts are highly trained female rangers who are at the frontline of our efforts to mitigate human-wildlife conflict in the area by protecting wildlife and working with the community to educate them on the importance of conservation. The female rangers are selected through a rigorous program that tests their physical endurance, mental strength, integrity, problem-solving skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
The program covers lessons on how to navigate the bush safely, interact with wildlife, track poachers, and handle weapons. The female rangers will play a critical role in patrolling and protecting Lower Zambezi National Park as well as the surrounding Game Management Areas. These women hike an average of 10-15 km each day through the African bush, searching for snares and other signs of illegal activity.
Our goal is to train and deploy 10 female rangers in Zambia this year. For a donation of $5,000, you can sponsor one female ranger for a year. This covers monthly patrols, training, and uniforms.
Thank you for partnering with us as we share and conserve Africa, together.
