Mitigating Human-wildlife conflict in Mola
Over the past few months, we have donated 15 new lion bomas to families in need in the Mola community. These bomas are helping the community to keep their livestock safe at night from lions and other predators. Additionally, we are employing 2 lion guardians who are supporting efforts on the ground to mitigate human-wildlife conflict. These guardians will warn the community when there are lions in the area so they can herd their livestock into the boma as well as conduct conservation education and awareness in the community.
We have seen a significant reduction in human-wildlife conflict in Mola as a result of the Lion Boma project as the community is more empowered and equipped to co-exist and live in harmony with wildlife. Our next focus is to purchase lion Boma for the Mambanje community outside the Hwange National Park. Each boma costs $2000.
Thank you for your continued support of our conservation projects and efforts.
