Upcycling and New Dance Classes Strengthen ADM

By Bismark Wordui | Project Lead

Project Update

We are excited to share encouraging progress from the Accra Dances Movement, where creativity, sustainability, and community engagement continue to come together through dance and environmental action.

Upcycling and Recycling Support

Recently, we received a generous donation of recyclable bottles from a member of our Board. These materials will directly support our upcycling and recycling workshops with learners at the SCEF centre. During these sessions, participants will transform everyday waste materials into creative art pieces and practical items.

This activity not only nurtures creativity but also helps young people understand the importance of environmental responsibility and sustainable living. By integrating arts with environmental education, we are empowering learners to see waste as a resource and to become active stewards of their environment.

Expanding Dance Education

We also held a productive planning meeting with dancer and instructor Dzen Nako to discuss the launch of a new dance class under the Accra Dances Movement. Together, we explored the structure of the program, learning goals, and the next steps toward implementation.

This new class will help expand access to dance education, physical expression, and creative development for children and young people in our community. Through structured dance training, participants will build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and artistic skills.

Looking Ahead

These initiatives reflect the growing impact of the Accra Dances Movement — using dance, creativity, and sustainability to inspire young people and strengthen community connections.

We are grateful to all supporters who continue to make this work possible. Your support helps us create safe, inspiring spaces where children and youth can learn, express themselves, and build brighter futures.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
