''My Daughter ~ My Pride'' Campaign

RSKS India celebrated International Day Of Girl Child with excitement and new energy as the world is home to more than 1.1 billion girls under the age of 18, who are poised to become the largest generation of female leaders, entrepreneurs, & change-makers the world has ever seen. This year the theme of celebration was “My Daughter ~ My Pride” and the following activities were conducted under the celebration in 2 remote villages with around 75 people:-

Rangoli Making:- RSKS India team members encouraged the youth girls of the 2 rural remote villages to prepare rangoli on the occasion of #InternationalDayOfGirlChild in order to showcase their art and also spread a beautiful message to the society. The Young girls prepared a beautiful rangoli and people, village official came and saw their rangoli and appreciated them for their creative work. RSKS India also gave them prizes in order to motivate them and build up their confidence so that they can always speak their thoughts in front of everyone.

Pink Ribbon Campaign:- RSKS India’s initiative of Yuva Saathi Club (Young Friends Club) played an initial role in the celebration of International Day Of Girl Child as all the young girls of Yuva Saathi Club came together and took an oath to protect each other and tied pink ribbon on each other’s hand. This gave a strong message to the rural community that all the girls together can protect each other.

Fruitful Tree Distribution & Plantation:- RSKS India distributed fruitful trees to the daughter of the families residing in the village and also all those daughters planted those trees in the village. These trees will provide healthy air, shade and fruits to the village people and also people will always remember the girl who planted the tree. This initiative was being appraised by the village officials and the community and all of them participated excitedly in the program.

Her Name Campaign:- Under this campaign, RSKS India team members wrote the name of the girl child in front of their house as name plates so that their house can be known by their names also. This initiative will increase gender equality in the village and will also change the orthodox thoughts of the village people. This initiative will form a base for girl children which will make their voice to be heard in their family as well as in the village.

My Selfie (Meri Beti, Meri Shaan):- “Meri Beti, Meri Shaan” which means MY DAUGHTER, MY PRIDE was the initiative taken in the 2 rural remote villages. Under this initiative, my selfie was taken with the parents and daughters of the family. This initiative was to change the mentality of the village people and also to make their parents feel proud of what they have.

All of these programs were encouraged and appreciated by the government officials, anganwadi workers, community people of both the villages and they thanked whole RSKS Team as they conducted these beautiful and meaningful activities in their villages in order to improve gender equality and end social evils which are prevailing in the rural remote villages till now. It is the thinking of RSKS India that International Day Of Girl Child should not be celebrated for a day only as having a daughter should always be a proud moment for everyone as without them this world can’t survive.

Clean Village Kindergarten with Solidarity !!

Kindergarten is a place where all the children go and learn something. Goddess Saraswati is called the goddess of studies in India and there is a saying that Goddess Saraswati resides in cleanliness. A public Kindergarten of village Moran was very untidy and the walls smell very bad because of the damping of walls. The walls of pre Kindergarten was not painted for years and everyone was watching it but no one was ready to paint it and because of all this the small children going to the Kindergarten were getting sick oftenly and hated going to Kindergarten.

RSKS India conducted a motivational program in the village in which importance of cleanliness in daily life was told to everyone. People were taught with the help of flipcharts, videoshows etc. so that they can understand the concept of cleanliness. RSKS India also encouraged the village people to paint the walls of the Kindergarten and assured also gave paint material for that and also told them to maintain cleanliness over there so that Goddess Saraswati can reside in the Kindergarten.

The motivational session resulted in 7 village people coming forward to paint and clean the public pre Kindergarten of the village. All the paint material was provided by the RSKS India to these 7 people who worked hard for 6 days to paint and clean the Kindergarten and now the Kindergarten is very cean and tidy. Now the children will love studying over there and they will not fall sick so oftenly. Whole village thanked RSKS India for this wonderful initiative.

When RSKS India's work was asked from that public pre Kindergarten teacher then she replied "The Kindergarten was not painted from many years and and the dampness of walls created a very foul smell in the classrooms. We used to divert the attention of the children in order to educate them but it was a very difficult task evertime. RSKS India's motivational program was very great and their firm determination of creating a healthy and clean environment led 7 people of our village painting the walls of the Kindergarten by the painting material provided by the RSKS India and also cleaning the Kindergarten. I would like to thank whole RSKS Team for this wonderful job."

Nutrition Food Relief During COVID-19

Living life along with a disease is like a curse for poor people as it is very painful for the body and the mind as their financial condition gets poor and poor along with the increase in the time of the disease. Tuberculosis is such kind of disease which requires a lot of care and helathy foods. Poor people are unable to get these healthy nutritious foods in this time of corona pandemic as they are pretty expensive and eating them daily will surely increase the financial burden on their family as finding employment in this time is pretty difficult so what these people do is eat normal food which they can acquire and it leads to long lasting disease.

RSKS India saw this problem and is working for the poor Tuberculosis (MDR) patients from a long time. After the lockdown was imposed by the government due to the corona pandemic, RSKS India started distributing healthy and nutritious food to 25 poor Tuberculosis (MDR) patients every month and till now it has been five months and these food contained eggs, pulses, nutrella, fruits, etc. so that adequate amount of protiens, vitamins etc. can be reached to them. Along with this awareness program was also done with them in which social distancing, use of masks, importance of washing hands were the prime focus.

Tuberculosis (MDR) patients got improvement in their health condition after consuming this healthy diet of eggs, pulses, nutrella, furits etc. provided by RSKS India and also their was no financial burden on their families for buying this type of nutirtious food. Their family members got very happy while seeing the improvement in their health and also started following all the necessary information which RSKS India team members told them to fight against Covid-19.

An Beneficiry's STORY....

Sunita (Name Changed) a 30 year old woman is having 3 children and her husband is Tuberculosis (MDR) patient in the government hospital. Her husband worked as a daily labour before falling sick and after he was admitted to hospital, Sunita started to work in daily Labor in order to meet the daily expenses of the house and of the children. She used to visit the hospital daily in order to provide food to him but she was unable to provide healthy food everytime as her financial condition was very poor. From the supporting hand of RSKS India, her financial and mental load was reduced to lot of extent as RSKS India provided healthy and nutritious food to her husband every month by which the health condition of her husband started improving.
