Human being, chasing for physical development is continuously forgetting the environment. While practising deforestation and constructing the concrete jungles, we don't even have a guess about the severe consequences we'll have to face in future as unexpected climate change, increase in average temperature, drought and many similar negative changes.
In order to conserve the environment, Rajsthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan took an initiative and organized "Earth Day". RSKS, with the financial support of GlobalGiving Foundation has organized "Earth Day" at a Girls School in village Rajgarh. The major objective of the program was to introduce the future generation to the importance of the conservation of environment and to save our earth. A poster making competition was also held for the school girls in which they drew beutiful posters on the concerning issue. In general, all the posters made by the little girls were beautiful and conveying messages, but to motivate them the girl who made the best poster among all was awarded.
RSKS activists explained the importance of the conservation of environment to the school girls that help us to save the earth. At the completion of the program, the school girls led a public awareness rally and the head of the village himself launched the rally. The school girls roamed in the streets of the village and chanted awareness slogans.
The rural community, after seeing the enthusiasm of the girls, supported and appreciated the program. At the end of the program, after the awareness rally was over, RSKS planted trees in the school playground with the school girls and staff. We planted 25 fruitful and shaddy trees on "Earth Day". The schools girls watered the planted trees and took oath to keep all of them safe.
RSKS India also came to know about the views and thoughts of the school girls and the Principal and took their feedback.
The Principal said, "the school girls are the furture of the country and the program has helped them to understand the importance of the conservation of environment." She added that the school ground was dry and drained earlier and there was no sign of plants or something else. But, now the efforts made by GlobalGiving Foundation and RSKS made the ground green and the planted sapplings will become trees to get us fresh air in the near future. The Principal along with the school staff thanked GlobalGiving Foundation and RSKS for their efforts.
