Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan successfully implemented a sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation initiative for vulnerable smallholder farmers in rural Rajasthan. Through a community based survey, 12 marginalized farmers facing ongoing livelihood challenges and limited agricultural resources were identified for support. The initiative was designed to strengthen rural resilience by promoting eco friendly farming practices, improving green cover, and creating future income opportunities for farming families.
Under this intervention, 84 fruit bearing saplings along with organic fertilizer were distributed to the selected farmers. The saplings included valuable varieties such as amla, jamun, lemon, pomegranate, mango, and chikoo. Plantation activities were carried out jointly by the RSKS team and the farmers, encouraging active participation and ownership. In addition, awareness sessions on tree care, sustainability, and organic agricultural practices were organized to ensure proper nurturing and long term survival of the saplings.
The initiative has laid the foundation for long term environmental and economic benefits within the community. As these trees grow, they are expected to improve biodiversity, strengthen soil quality, and support sustainable livelihoods through future fruit production. The participating farmers expressed heartfelt gratitude to RSKS India and generous supporters for helping them build a greener, healthier, and more secure future.
