Let the fun begin!
We would like to share with you the news about the Affective Sponsorship program! After all training the adult candidates for godparents, as well as the children and adolescents to be sponsored, they were matched and began to spend time together!
The pairing of volunteers with children and adolescents happened through recreational days, which have a playful nature; during this day, directed games and activities are held, and there is also time for free interaction! The goal of these meetings is that the volunteers, children and teenagers can get to know each other!
After this, Adults wrote reports telling about how they felt at the recreational days and who they would choose to sponsor; during conversations with the project team, children and teenagers also expressed what they found about the recreational days and by whom they would like to be sponsored. The project team considers the profile of children and godparents, as well as the adults and the children’s wishes, in order to settle the pairing.
Volunteers and children were paired and started to spend time together, once a week!
Since then, the godfathers and godmothers began to have individual supervision every two months interposed with supervision in group every two months. The aim is to coach the godparents and to develop tools to make the sponsorship as best as possible!
We wish all these adults, children and adolescents good meetings! May they become good friends, and have healthy, lasting and affective bonds!
Kind Regards
Instituto Fazendo História Team
