Dear Friends,
In 2015, AIL trained over 744 teachers, 541 of them female. The teachers attended seminars which educated them about the latest teaching techniques but also about understanding their students on a personal level. The courses also address teachers’ concerns about their own capacity and underlines how their work makes a profound difference beyond an individual student’s life.
Zarmina, a workshop participant said, “I have always been thinking about how I could be someone helping and serving my community. I thought that while I am a teacher, I can’t do that. But this ten day seminar has changed my idea and taught me that the best way of serving people is through this teaching job as it is especially useful to reach students and help them grow.. I decided to be a useful person in the society through teaching and this seminar taught me a lot about psychological issues for the teacher and the students which will help a lot.”
Please read the attached CHI 2015 Newsletter featuring AIL for information on activities last year.
Thank you for continuing to support our efforts to train teachers in Afghanistan!
