In this quarantine situation due to the world health crisis caused by Covid-19, it forces us to see the leading role and the role that rural populations and especially small family farming have been playing, which for many reasons are forgotten and made invisible by decision-making authorities. Currently this sector concentrates 70% of food production for the country. The crisis due to the coronavirus COVID-19, especially affects small farmers who are part of family farming, since their economy depends exclusively on family labor, the contagion by COVID 19 of one of its members can affect the income and food the family, since they depend exclusively on agriculture. Families can be infected in two main ways: by inhaling the droplets expelled by an infected person who exhales, coughs or sneezes, as well as by touching surfaces contaminated with these drops.
The implementation of supplies and materials to carry out the hand washing process, distributed to the beneficiary families of the project, will greatly resolve the spread of the covid-19 virus, washing hands is essential for their protection. Doing so is an action to be forewarned. The OMS highlights that frequent washing with soap and water is one of the best ways to avoid contagion. It is using soap, since water alone is not enough. This helps to eliminate germs and viruses.
The farmers beneficiaries of the project, will recognize the importance of handwashing, for the prevention of the Covid-19 contagion, they considered as the first preventive measure to minimize the possible contagion. Furthermore, it is known that hands accumulate microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi. According to the Spanish Society of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology (SEIMC), identified between 104 and 109 causes of diseases that affect our health.
