There is no electricity utility in Punma village, located in Jajarkot district in Mid-western region of Nepal. After promulgation of new constitution in September 2015, Jajarkot district lies in province 6.
Because of no electricity, life is difficult specially for women, who need to do daily household chores. They need to use kerosene lamps in the evening to cook food for their family and to wash utensils. There is also indoor pollution, due to smoke coming from kerosene lamp, because of which many women have respiratory diseases. ECCA coordinated with local women group to provide solar tuki lamp to their members.
Ms. Nirmla, one of the recipients of the solar tuki lamp expressed happiness and thanked all for the support provided.
We thank you for your support.
