Seasonal greetings and thank you, to all our donors, supporters and well-wishers for your continuous support in our program. Without your support we would not have been able to serve the needy community in our country.
New Youth Children Development Society is an orphanage being operated by a group of youth in Bhaktapur District. It serves 52 deprived orphan children from various location of different age from 6 to 18.The orphanage has been providing all the basic needs of the orphans living there along with quality education.
However the centre faced a problem along with the entire country related to power crisis. The children who were staying there had a hard time studying after they returned from the school as the peak time for the power cut was in the evening. They used to study under the candle lights which created a nuisance for them. The main reason for it was the fire flame and being cautious towards the burning candles which created a lapse of concentration towards their studies. In addition they could not study at places, they wanted as the candle possessed high chances of fire accidents and also it could be easily extinguished by wind.
Thus keeping this in mind ECCA with financial support from Donors like you, has provided solar lights to the all the children of the orphanage in 50% subsidized rate. Along with it a solar mass charging station has been established where the light holders charge their solar lights. They charge their lights in the daytime and use it to study in the evenings.
These solar lights have provided an opportunity for the orphans to study in their regular schedule unlike the days before where they used to wait for the electricity to come. Even they can study at their desired place like in bed, in the balcony etc and the problems are not faced like those with the candle. “Now I do not need to wait for the electricity to study and the light seems better than the candle”, said Parshuram who is one of the residences of the orphanage.
We thank you for partnering with us to help the rural people and students of Nepal better their lives in an ecologically sustainable way. We hope for your suggestion and recommendation in future.
