Waswang Village, situated in Ward No. 13 of Rapti Municipality, Chitwan District, Central Nepal, is home to the indigenous Chepang people. The village faces numerous development challenges, one of the most critical being the lack of electricity. Due to its difficult geographical terrain, the national grid has not yet reached the area.
To address this situation, ECCA mobilized local women and supported in the formation of the Lothar Laliguras Women Group. Members of this group were provided training on livelihood development. As part of this initiative, ECCA distributed solar photovoltaic lamps to all 25 members of the women group. Before distribution, basic orientation was provided to raise awareness on the use of solar photovoltaic lamp.
Ms. Jalimaya, President of the Women Group, expressed her gratitude for the support. She shared that the solar lamp has significantly improved her daily life, making it easier to carry household chores and care for livestock, tasks she previously managed using only a kerosene lamp.
ECCA is deeply grateful for your continued support. Your contributions are helping us improve the quality of life in rural communities like Waswang, bringing light and hope to places that need it most.
