Dear donors,
We thank those who have contributed toward the “Assist 150 Flood-Hit Families in Mokwa, Niger State” project. While your support is appreciated, the donations received so far are not sufficient to start the project. We appeal for further contributions to help us provide urgent relief to families affected by the recent floods.
On May 28–29, 2025, heavy rains and the collapse of a nearby dam caused severe flooding in Mokwa, Niger State. The disaster left over 200 people dead, more than 500 missing, and over 3,000 homes damaged or destroyed. Bridges, roads, and farmlands were washed away, leaving communities isolated and in urgent need of help. Families lost their homes, belongings, and means of livelihood, and many are still struggling to recover.
This project will provide emergency support to 150 affected families, including food, hygiene kits, temporary shelter materials, and basic medical care such as wound treatment and rescue assistance. In addition, we will support community-led activities aimed at flood preparedness and awareness to reduce future risks. Immediate intervention is critical to ensure these families have access to basic necessities and safety.
By supplying essential relief and strengthening local preparedness, we aim to help families recover and rebuild their lives while creating safer, more resilient communities in Mokwa. With your additional support, we can reach those who are most vulnerable and help mitigate the long-term impact of this disaster.
Every contribution brings hope, relief, and a chance for families to regain stability after this tragedy.
Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
