An Inclusive Future for 20 Disabled Children
An Inclusive Future for 20 Disabled Children

1. Project Background

In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), children with disabilities face systemic exclusion due to stigma, poverty, and lack of access to essential services. Most families cannot afford proper medical care, adaptive equipment, or access to education. Schools are rarely equipped for inclusive learning, and societal prejudices further marginalize these children.

2. Project Objective

This project aims to improve the quality of life for 20 disabled children in the DRC by:

  • Providing adaptive equipment (wheelchairs, mobility aids, etc.)
  • Ensuring access to specialized medical care
  • Supporting inclusive and appropriate education
  • Offering psychosocial and economic support to families
  • Conducting community awareness campaigns to fight stigma and promote acceptance

3. Expected Impact

The project will have a long-lasting impact by:

  • Enabling children to reach their full potential in an inclusive environment
  • Strengthening the capacity of families to care for their children
  • Reducing poverty and dependency through targeted economic support
  • Raising awareness to promote equal opportunities and social acceptance
  • Contributing to a more just and inclusive society

4. Implementation Strategy

The project will be carried out in several phases:

  1. Identification and assessment of children’s needs
  2. Distribution of specialized equipment and connection to healthcare services
  3. Integration of children into inclusive local schools
  4. Community awareness and anti-stigma campaigns
  5. Support for families (counseling, training, small economic aid)
  6. Regular follow-up on each beneficiary’s progress

5. Partnership with GlobalGiving

Through our partnership with GlobalGiving, we strongly believe this project can be realized and achieve its goal of sustainable social transformation. GlobalGiving provides us with a trusted and accessible platform to mobilize funds, reach a global audience, and build transparency and trust with our donors.

6. Estimated Budget

The total estimated budget for this project is $15,000 USD, which will cover:

  • Specialized equipment for the children
  • Medical care and transportation costs
  • Educational support and school resources
  • Economic support for families
  • Awareness campaign organization

7. Call for Support
