Atlas Corps: Advancing Tech for Humanity

Summary

Atlas Corps: Advancing Tech for Humanity is our annual theme to focus on engaging social change leaders in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields to serve as Atlas Corps Fellows in the USA for 12-18 months at the world's best technology organizations and nonprofits-technology leaders for social change. In addition, we want to highlight the key role technology plays in addressing critical social issues beyond the aforementioned fields.

Challenge

In general, the "technology sector" lacks diversity and, as a result, discourages innovation. It results in companies and products that do not fully consider or empathize with a world that is much more diverse than the tech community. This lack of diverse perspective and knowledge limits the creative spectrum applied to the creation of technology-related products that people interact with on a daily basis.

Solution

Atlas Corps was created with the idea that talent is universally distributed in the world, but opportunity is not. This year, we are focusing our efforts on technology. We want the world's most talented social change tech talent to cross borders to learn, share, and address critical social issues. As a debate rages in our politics and our society about isolationism vs globalization, Atlas Corps is building bridges with the world's best social change tech leaders.

Long-Term Impact

Atlas Corps is unleashing global tech leaders to make a difference in the world. By focusing on advancing technology for humanity, Atlas Corps will develop high impact social change tech leaders and address critical issues by the effective use of technology.
