Challenge

Talent exists everywhere in the world, but opportunity does not. Atlas Corps identifies the world's best social change leaders and gives them the opportunity to develop their skills by serving in the U.S. to learn new skills, share their perspectives, and then return home to address critical social issues in their countries and around the world.

Solution

Atlas Corps has a unique model where a talented social change leader from overseas comes to the U.S. for 12-18 months. During this fellowship they volunteer full-time at an incredible social change organization and are enrolled in a leadership development program that includes classroom based training (even a certificate from Georgetown University!) The Host Org pays a fee that cover 66% of the expenses, on average the U.S. Government covers 20%, so we only need to raise 14% per Fellow.

Long-Term Impact

Over 12 years Atlas Corps has supported 600+ leaders from 88 different countries. We are creating a generation of well-trained, well-networked, global, social change leaders who have the skills and ability to lead organizations and address critical issues in their home countries for decades to come.
