Class 34 arrives in January...

Hello-

Happy Holidays! Are you looking forward to the end of 2018 and start of 2019? We are as January means that we welcome a new Class of Fellows. Your support is inspiring impact. You helped to grow our community to more than 700 social change leaders from 89 countries.

Now, it is with great enthusiasm that we announce Atlas Corps Class 34. They will join us in late January 2019. Please join me in welcoming:

As we think about welcoming Class 34, we also reflect on the past year. Overall, 2018 was an inspiring, yet challenging year. We engaged 82 new Fellows—including 52 women as part of our empower women globally theme in 2018 (60% of our Fellows are female!) and we partnered with 44 new Host. Our 700+ community of Fellows and Alumni are impacting thousands of people around the world. Yet, we’ve also been hit hard by cuts in government funding and unexpected expenses.

Meet Laura...

Laura Torres (Colombia, Host: Atlas Corps)

Hello!

Thank you for being an Atlas Corps Monthly Donor! You are part of a unique group of supporters who are proving long-term investment in our organization and our social change leaders.

Your support helped us to recruit Laura - a communications expert from Colombia! As an Atlas Corps Fellow, Laura will manage the Atlas Corps social media strategy and enhance the “storytelling” component of external events to better showcase the achievements of Fellows and Host Organizations. She will also help to expand the Atlas Corps external presence as included in our communications and public relations strategy.

In addition to welcoming Laura in May, Class 31 in July, and Class 32 in September, Atlas Corps also launched a new partnership with the IBM Corporate Service Corps (read more in Scott Beale's recent post: http://bit.ly/partnershipatlas). Here is a quick overview of the partnership:

For the first time in its history, Atlas Corps is matching some of our Fellows with IBM Corporate Service Corps (CSC) members in San Francisco and New York to help address critical social issues in our local communities....This year marks CSC’s 10 year anniversary and the first time they are bringing their global talent to American communities. Atlas Corps is honored to be part of this new model in helping American nonprofit organizations build sustainability and ensure that effective corporate best practices are brought to bear to enhance our communities.
