I will complete my A level by this June 2018 and plan to go USA for fulfill my dream to become Aeronautical Engineer. In Pakistan, female has limited choice for profession and she need to be dared for selection of engineering profession. In 2018 batch of my school, I am the only female student who chosen this profession. I applied with 100% financial support to seven universities of USA and waiting for reply because my parents are not financially strong and my mother is only the bread earner of our family.
Anushka live in Lahore and her mother joined this project in 2014. Muwakhat Foundation provided financial support for fees, books, uniform and travelling. She is very brilliant student and in 2016, she got 100% scholarship from school.
Like Anushka, many other stories of girls who left school and helping families by earn some money. Muwakhat Foundation is giving awareness sessions in community to parents about importance of education for girls and this project will help 500 girls back to school for complete school education and can plan to get professional degree like Anushka.
Literacy Center for homeless girls in Lahore
Muwakhat Foundation is working with homeless children and women for provide food, health and education since 2013. One of girls group
We are establishing this center for girls where offer multi services i.e.
COMMUNITY AWARENESS MEETINGS WITH PARENTS
Muwakhat Foundation team conducted twelve awareness meetings with parents on importance of girls’ education in Lahore and Kasur cities.
In awareness meeting, share importance of girl education especially in the light of Quran (muslim religious book) and did interactive sessions with mothers. We observed that mothers want to send their girls to school but cannot raise voice in front of the decision of father or head of households.
Till to date 330 mothers and fathers attended awareness meetings.
Fifteen girls rejoin their schools and Muwakhat Foundation providing financial assistance for their education.
Way Forward
In July 2018, Muwakhat Foundation will open Rehabilitation and Pre-school Center for Girls age above 12 years who never went to school for education.
Muwakhat team will conduct one to one meeting with 60 parents and motivate to send back their daughters to school
