The Joy of Smiley Cookies
By Children Are Us Foundation | Cheer
Ah-Jun (pseudonym) has been working in the sheltered workshop for 11 years, mainly doing cleaning tasks. Recently, he challenged himself by expressing the desire to press smiley-face cookies .
At first, Ah-Jun focused only on speed, wanting to be faster than his peers, but often overlooked quality. With the patient guidance of his job coach, he gradually learned to slow down, prioritize quality, and then improve his pace step by step.
His hard work paid off! After six months, Ah-Jun can now press one smiley-face cookie every two seconds—and most importantly, he finds joy and pride in every cookie he makes .

A Changed Future, Thanks to You

At our storefront, Chung (alias) is primarily responsible for preparing beverages—from classic teas to fresh milk tea, whether hot or cold, nothing seems to stump him.
Behind Chung’s smooth drink-making skills lies the dedicated support and effort of his job coach. Originally, the recipe instructions were written on a single page, with each step simply listed. This format made it difficult for Chung to follow, as he often skipped steps, leading to inconsistent quality. To help him succeed, the job coach redesigned the recipe into a flashcard format—one step per card—so Chung could accurately complete each part of the process, one page at a time.
Every individual has their own sky to soar in. At the foundation, we train each person based on their abilities, empowering them to become self-reliant. If you share this vision, even a small donation or the purchase of a meal made by our trainees can help them grow and thrive. We warmly invite you to join us in supporting this meaningful cause!

A Sparkling Passion, Bit by Bit
By Children Are Us Foundation | Cheer
Yee (alias) may seem carefree at first glance, but when she works, she is incredibly focused and dedicated! Whether she's wrapping traditional pastries or boxing cookies, she always gives it her all—and her work quality is absolutely top-notch.
But even superheroes have their own challenges. For Yee, assembling packaging boxes was her Achilles’ heel. With so many different box types and varied contents, remembering all the details was no easy task. Yee once felt very insecure about this part of the job and was hesitant to even practice it.
Thankfully, with constant encouragement and companionship from her job coach, Yee slowly began to open up and practice more willingly. Whenever she meets her set goals, her smile outshines the sun! Through this, she found confidence and a sense of accomplishment. Nowadays, Yee enjoys discussing her work and training methods with the job coach—and even shares little stories from her everyday life!
