Basketball Clinic for 500 school kids in Nigeria

Thank you for your generous donation in support of the TimeOut4Africa Education and Sports Foundation. We have good news to share with you! 

In February 2020 during the clinic week, We identified about 32 school girls to join our girl elite clinic team. These girls meet with our  coaches and some  instructors to work on both life and basketball skills. We will say we saw tremendous improvement on and off the basketball courts after the clinic week. During the month of September 2019, we ran clinics and matches for the girls and at the end selected the best 32 players from Schools all around Minna, forming 8 teams of  4 players each. These players competed in the 1 week Clinic and competition. All attendees received a new pair of shoes and some game shirts and shorts. 
Gladis one of the girls who is in her last year of secondary school said she had never attended any thing like this and was glad she made new friends, acquired new skill and was grateful for the shoes and game cloths.

Timeout4Africa Foundation continues to spread its mission all over Nigeria. In December 2019, the Timeout4Africa team made it back to Jos for a two day instructional clinic. We partnered with Bishop Kwash and his team again at Zambiri school grounds in Nyango Chwel. Jos  for our " Growing the Game" series 2nd edition with 75 school kids for 3schools in the area. Our team presented the team  with 120 T-shirts, 6 basketballs, and 10 pairs of basketball shoes.  The clinic was an instructional clinic where school kids were taught life skills and fundamental basketball skills. Our project leader Mrs Briggs and some few parents was also on hand to make sure the kids were well taken care of and feed lunch each of the clinic days. The students were encouraged to be good citizens and stay in school, and to practice the spirit of sportsmanship when they are playing sports.

The Patron of the school Mrs Kwashi again was very appreciative and also individually thank members of our team for making the 7 hour drive from Minna to organize the clinic.
