Dear Friends, Donors, Namaste !
Greetings and good wishes to you from BASS, India
Thank you very much for your continuous support to the project for the past 10 years.
This project operates three after school learning centers for the benefit of 150 children in two slum locations in Guntur city. The project is successfully going on well, almost currently at the last month of the end of the academic year 2022-23.
BASS staff and volunteers are effectively continuing our Care and education program for the academic year 2022-23 and our upper primary school up to 7th class at Dasaripalem slum as a regular school. Total 120 children are attending daily with 5 teachers and 3 helpers and cooks working in this upper primary school. And also operating two evening learning centers at Swarna Bharathi nagar slum, more than 70 children are attending during the evening and two teachers are working here to educate children. And 80 children are attending the Lingayapalem Slum evening learning centre.
The children are regularly attending the after school learning centers, completing their daily homework and improving their knowledge, learning in all subjects. And also motivating children for the importance of education and also imparting life skills. The children's school attendance has been improved and our children progress in their regular exams and get the best marks in all subjects. Parents are happy and appreciate their children for good behavior and best marks. Just final annual exams are pending to complete this academic year.
The evening after school learning centers are must for the slum children as their homes are very small and not having the best learning atmosphere. Most of the children are weak in studies; they require skilled teacher’s assistance in completing their homework and improve their knowledge in all subjects to compete with other regular school going children. All the children will promote the next class from June 2023.
The summer holidays will start from the end of April up to June second week. But our after school centers will continue to operate during summer holidays also.
During this quarter our project received the US$ 2575 from all of your generous donations. We will utilize this support for the operating costs of the learning centers for three months.
150 Children needed new books, writing material, school bags and uniforms for the new academic year 2023-24. Children families are very poor and not able to provide for the children's education needs.
Therefore we humbly request you to kindly support 150 children to get new education material, uniforms and continue to run three after school slum learning centers. Please support again and opt for recurring donation for new academic year 2023.
Thanking you
Season Greetings and Happy New Year 2022
With Gratitude,
