Hope this letter finds you well and stay safe!
Thank you very much your kind support and partnership to operate worksites school for the Seasonal migrated child labour families from Odisha to work in 12 brick industries at Choutuppal areas, Telangana. We operated the 5th Batch worksite school starts from January 2021 with covid break and continued up to August 2021. This year also 200 families were migrated from Odisha state to come to work in brick kilns at Choutuppal Brick industries. During April to June India faced severe Corona infections and deaths and currently slowed down but not stopped yet. But the Government revoked all the covid lockdown restrictions everywhere in India and also Yadadri District, Telangana.
This year 40 children benefited with vocational skills training trades like candle making, dress making, phenol, pickles, pain balms and other handicrafts along with life skills with help of two instructors Kanthamma and Chandra Kala. Still some families are not going back to their native state and continuing their works in the brick industries. Therefore, our worksite school is open to give training to all available children with formal education along with vocational skills training.
Due to covid Lockdown the migrated families had no works and just staying in unprotected huts at the brick industries areas at risk of starvation. Therefore, our organization distributed covid relief essential food and hygiene kits to the migrated families in this area. We also distributed essential food and nutrition kits to 72 children who lost their parents due to covid infections. And also distributed covid emergency dry ration food and hygiene kits to kits 200 covid impacted families at Choutuppal.
Unfortunately, this project could not receive any donations for the last four months. The worksite school is working throughout the year as per the available seasonal migrated families’ children. We need to pay the two instructors’ honorarium and classroom rents continuously throughout the year. The new sixth worksite schools’ batch will start from the fourth week of December 2021.
We humbly requesting to kindly support this project with monthly donations to continue to operate and eradicate child labour in the brick industries at Choutuppal areas.
Thank you so much
With kind gratitude
