Dear Friends and donors! Namaste !
Greetings from BASS Worksite School for seasonal migrated child labour in brick industries, Choutuppal, India.
We are presenting the project progress report for the first quarter of 2023.
We have successfully completed the 6th Batch worksite school 2022 by 30th June 2022. Total 40 children in this batch, learn formal education, life skills and vocational skills training in Candle making, phenol, dress making with the help of two trainers. Children are very happy to attend in the classroom instead of staying at the brick kilns along with their parents. At least 200 families migrated to Brick industries during the first quarter of 2022 and stayed up to June 2022.
The project was very successful and all the children did not work in brick making with their parents. BASS team and staff are successful in operating the centre to prevent child labour here. The officers from the Government departments including labor, police and education visited the centre and appreciated the project and all the families left to their homes in Odisha by July 2022.
Unfortunately we are not starting the 7th Batch from January 2023, even though many families are coming to work here in Brick industries on a seasonal basis due to limited resources. We are seeking your support to operate the centre for 6 months but we have not obtained enough help, We need to pay school rent, two teachers remunerations and education and vocational skills training material and Nutrition support.
Unfortunately, there are no donations received for this project for the past years 2021 and 2022 and recently just 100USD only.
Therefore we have not started the school for 2023. But we hope to start worksite school again from December 2023 with all your help.
We humbly request you to kindly support this project to continue to operate new batch of worksite school from December 2023
Thank you
Sincerely with gratitude
