We are also sending our humble gratitude to GlobalGiving foundation for giving us great opportunity for approve and published our new project care and support for 75 HIV patients in Guntur India in GlobalGving.
This is our first progress report submitting to you for your kind study and remarks.
The Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi (BASS), is an Indian Progressive Service Society, located in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh is a registered non-governmental voluntary organization established in 1978. BASS seeks to improve the livelihoods of children, youth, women and vulnerable people—those who are at the highest risk due to challenging socio-economic conditions. BASS works to bring relief and opportunity to rural and urban communities negatively impacted by poverty.
The activities of the organization seek to promote social justice, equality and empowerment to disadvantaged peoples and victims of disasters in the Guntur district. BASS executing many activities including: educational, economic, social, health and emergency relief and rehabilitation services.
As per the current objectives of our organization we are concentrating on welfare of vulnerable people especially HIV impacted families in Guntur District for the last two years. Hence we have identified more that 120 HIV/Aids infected patients in Guntur district in which 30 patients are children. Unfortunately these people are living without anyone’s care either from families or from local communities. And more over our government or other charities are not working for the welfare of the HIV patients in Guntur district.
Therefore we have been taken-up the project to care and support 75 HIV Patents in Guntur through Global Giving. We are working with local NGO Praja seva Samstha, Guntur for the last one year. Every month on 10th we are participating with in the relief distribution camps for the HIV affected people in Guntur city with our limited resources
We are providing monthly nutritional supplies and a pension of Rs 200 per month to 125 patients. From January to March 2017 we were participated in three distributions camps and also we provided lunch for all the attended patients. We are also organized emotional support through personal counseling and awareness meetings with expert people in the community. The resources we are getting from local people are very limited and not sufficient to cover 125 patients. So through this project we wish to provide adequate nutritional support and emotional care to 75 patients in Guntur city .
Unfortunately we do not get sufficient donations for the project for the last three months, therefore I humbly request you to kindly share the project with all your networks and friends to get more donations.
Thank you once again for your kind support for the project and hopefully expecting your continosou support.
With Gratitude
