Project Report | Dec 9, 2020
We launched a new course

By Vasumathi Sriganesh | Founder

December is here and while the year is rather sombre, we hope everyone has something to celebrate and feel thankful for.

We certainly do. In my last report I had mentioned that we were soon going to launch a new course and we did. On the 25th of November we finished creating and hosted a new open-to-all course - :"Introduction to Referencing"

The Introduction to Referencing course came into being, as we had observed that our education system in India does not by default teach students about citing, referencing and various styles. And so, a medical (or health sciences) student often finds these jobs a tad difficult when he / she starts medical / research writing

While we do have a course on a Reference Management software, we felt the need for this introductory course. We made it in such a way that it is ideal for someone new to referencing, but even for those who have had some experience, this course helps them teach others, (or simply refer them here for learning)

Having spread the word on 28th November about the course - we noticed that between the 28th and 29th - ten people started and completed the course. Till date - that is - 9th December - nearly 30 people have finished the course. Not bad at all.

Some of the feedback we received are:

  • Important points simplified for beginners
  • This is a useful course - very easy to understand
  • Thank you for the beautiful and useful teaching

Scores that we got were:

  • Overall rating of the course                   -9.22/10
  • Likelihood of recommending to others - 9.25/10
  • Relevance in the individual's context -   9.17 /10
  • Course delivery by faculty                   - 9.65/10

Overall this makes us feel very satisfied. Of course the bigger challenge is in reaching out to large numbers!

Could you help by:

a) Referring www.qmedcourses.in to health professsionals and students in India?

b) Support this activity by a recurring monthly donation - yourself, and by asking one more person?

Thank you, and Season's Wishes!
