1. Project Title
Books for Children in Rural Sri Lanka – Ampara
2. Introduction / Background
In many rural areas of Sri Lanka, children from low-income families face serious difficulties in accessing basic educational materials. Due to financial challenges, parents often struggle to provide essential items such as school textbooks, exercise books, and stationery. This directly affects children’s learning ability and motivation.
Understanding this need, our organization implemented the “Books for Children in Rural Sri Lanka” project to support school children in the Ampara area by providing complete book packs for the new school term.
3. Project Description
This project focused on children from low-income families in the Ampara area.
We donated full book packs to selected school children to support them at the beginning of the new school term.
Each book pack included essential school materials such as:
Exercise books
School textbooks (as required)
Stationery items (pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, etc.)
Other basic learning materials
The main goal was to ensure that children could start the new school term fully prepared, without the burden of lacking school supplies.
