Every year, Bray Cancer Support Centre's volunteer drivers provide over 640 patient transport trips using their own cars. We have received a grant of 4,000 from Dun Laoghaire County Council and a grant of 4,000 from Bray Town Council towards the purchase of a car for our patient transport service. However we are short 8,000 for this project. With your help, we can buy a dedicated patient transport car that would be used daily to transport cancer patients to their treatment centres
1 in 3 people will be affected by cancer in Ireland. Bray Cancer Support Centre are to the forefront in providing a range of professional cancer support services to over 2,500 people affected by cancer annually in the Wicklow & Dublin. Help us to provide more patient transport trips to those who need it in the Wicklow & Dublin areas by helping to fund a dedicated car for this service. By having a dedicated vehicle for this service, we can do more and help more people.
Our transport services are facilitated by our volunteer drivers, using their own cars. Our transport service is available for those who are not in a position to drive themselves to hospitals for their treatment or appointments. The service was introduced for those who live alone, are unable to drive, or have no family member to drive them. The service is free of charge. This project will provide our Centre with a dedicated car that will be used for our patient transport services.
We will help over 2,500 people affected by cancer on a annual basis. This figure will increase by 50% over the next five years. Annually, we provide over 640 patient transport trips. This figure is increasing each year.
