Thanks to a major donation we have reached our goal to bolster our operating costs, including insurance, utilities, and facility costs, so that we can focus on our work in turning the AlgomaTrad Centre into a year-round operation. We are so thankful to our donor for their support and we look forward to sharing good news of our continued development with them and with all our supporters as we accomplish our goals and tasks!
We had a busy summer at the Centre this summer, with 2 concerts, several craft workshops, weekly song circles and tune sessions, and a hugely successful summer family camp for 200 participants! Infrastructure upgrades continue with snow/ice dams and gutters installed on the Main Hall in preparation for winter. A hardwood dance floor is scheduled for installation in the Hall this winter and final upgrades to this Hall should be completed this winterr as well. We have a full slate of fall programming coming up with monthly community dances and bi-weekly song circles and tune sessions.
Planning for next year has begun - stay tuned for more info about how our organization is continuing its mission to create more arts and culture infrastructure with the building of the new Dan's Hall, a performance/dance hall with workshop classrooms.
