AlgomaTrad is a charitable heritage arts organization in rural Northern Ontario dedicated to building inclusive community through the celebration, sharing, and learning of traditional music, dance, art, and heritage craft. This project helps us step into our future by closing an unexpected funding gap of essential administrative costs including insurance, utilities, and general facility operating costs associated with our transition to a year round arts and culture center.
Unexpected expenses have arisen due to fluctuating and unpredictable construction costs, supply issues, delays, and the challenge of obtaining essential services in a northern rural setting. These pressures have created a short-term funding gap that impacts our day-to-day operations.
Site development is underway to expand programming and strengthen earned revenue in the coming years, but securing support for immediate administrative and facility costs to bridge this gap will setting the organization up for success and ensuring continuity during this period of growth.
Since 2004, AlgomaTrad has reached over 25,000 people of all ages through camps, concerts, dances, workshops, and festivals. As more people engage with the creativity, skills, and connections it fosters, the impact ripples out, supporting artists, contributing to local tourism, and helping build a strong, inclusive, and enriched community.
