Dear Friends,

All of us at Riley Orton Foundation Org and The Akili School For Girls want to wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR! Since September 2020 when we started this campaign to bring back girls to school after Covid, it has been such a huge blessing to see your donations, big and small trickle in every month and help us to buy the necessary school supplies, food and pay our teachers stipends. We can’t thank you enough for collectively raising $4,115 to keep our girls in school. The prolonged school closures during the pandemic led to early and unplanned pregnancies and school dropout for many marginalized girls who had to survive by all means, some including transactional sex for food and basic necesities like the sanitary pads. Getting girls back to school seemed almost impossible considering that many parents had lost their sources of income as well. Because of your partnership and generosity, we  were able to keep all the Akili Girls in School for the entire school year! Because they had all their needs met, they didn’t have to engage in transactional sex for basic needs. Instead they were able to stay in school and concentrate on their studies hence registering stellar scores in their exams. Thank you so much for thinking about us and going the extra mile to spare a few dollars to support these girls and keep them on track to discovering and achieving their dreams and ultimately being the change they want to see in their communities. Your support has contributed to creating gender equality through educating girls living in extreme poverty in Kenya by providing them with all the resources they need to thrive and reach their full potential. We have 3 classes of girls graduating from high school in the new year and we look forward to working with you again to give them high school scholarships to further their education.  $120 pays school fees for a girl for the entire year and any donation of $10 or more goes a long way in ensuring that the girls can access basic supplies of food , sanitary pads and underwear, school uniforms and teachers stipends. Again, THANK YOU for your continued support! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
