Virtual Reality
By Natalie Lazaris | Head of Business
Virtual Reality (VR) is the name coined for any system that aims to allow a user to feel as if they are experiencing a particular experience using special perception changing tools. In other words, VR is an illusion of reality, one that exists inside a virtual, software-based world.
We live in a world where technology is in the forefront of everything. Therefore, the foundation believes in the power of making dreams come true during the 4th industrial revolution. Virtual Reality was introduced to keep the morale of the kids fighting life threatening illness during the pandemic and beyond.
The Virtual Reality experiences we offer in our Dream Rooms are designed to open new worlds for our in-hospital dreamers. They provide children who are unable to leave the hospital the opportunity to experience and explore magical places such as the beach, Disney World, or even space. With the support from Eden, a company that specialises in hardware, content and platform-based VR solutions, we are bringing joy and happiness to children when they need it most.

It offers an escape from reality into utopia – a world full of possibilities and worth exploring for our dreamers which appeals to their interests. Places such as the world under the sea, or even wonderful destinations globally; and offer information on topics dreamers are often interested in such as a journey into the scientific; architectural as well as aviation world, just to name a few. The integration of Virtual Reality is a typical example of the use of Information Technology & Communication to ensure that the child’s mental stimulation and developmental milestones are achieved.
Virtual Reality is really a new communication platform. By feeling truly present you can share unbounded spaces and experiences with the people in your life. Imagine not just sharing moments with your friends online but entire experiences and adventures. - Mark Zuckerberg

VIRTUAL REALITY TO INSPIRE DREAMS
By Natalie Lazaris | Project Manager
Virtual Reality developers Eden, has been awarded the highly coveted MEWS Impact Award for their groundbreaking work in developing our innovative VR kits. The MEWS Awards have long been recognised as a leading accolade within the technology and creative industries, under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, and we are exceptionally proud to have our VR experiences recognised by such an esteemed global jury.
The Foundation is therefore inviting content providers and sponsors who are willing to invest in this project, to get in touch. Become a Virtual Reality Experiences Sponsor making a donation here to ensure that we reach more children in hospital to benefit from the VR experience.
At the forefront of our VR experiences is the potential to transport children in hospital to new worlds, giving them the chance to break free from the confines of their current reality. With Eden's incredible contribution, we have been able to allow these children to dream further and create unforgettable experiences that were once impossible. Providing these children with the power of VR has opened up endless possibilities for adventure, and exploration!
