Since our last report, the library in Amman continues to take shape, and we are thrilled to share the progress that has been made. Our network of supporters has grown to now include the Ministry of Culture, the Friends of Children Cultural Society, the University of Jordan, and the Institute for Critical Thought. We are deeply grateful to this expanding group, each member of which has generously volunteered its time, network, and expertise to the project. Their support has helped us secure further book donations, advise us on the library's design and cataloguing systems, and form a youth volunteer team who are now actively shaping the space.
These young volunteers — high school students from across Jordan — have brought tremendous energy and creativity to the project. They are designing the library's interior, upcycling materials for furnishings and decor, cataloguing the growing book collection, and helping plan future events. Guided by their efforts, we have begun shelving our children's and youth literature, and the library is starting to feel like the welcoming space we envisioned from the start.
We are especially excited to share that in May, we partnered with the Ministry of Culture for the National Day of Books, showcasing our library's books at a city-wide event held at the Royal Cultural Center. It was a wonderful opportunity to introduce our growing collection to the public and connect with families and readers across Amman.
Looking ahead, we hope to host our first public event at the library this summer, marking another important milestone in bringing this library to life for the community it was built to serve.
Thank you for continuing to be part of this journey. Every step forward is made possible by your support.
