Walukuba-Masese Library in Jinja, Uganda is the cornerstone to the community. Its programming puts an emphasis on reading, writing and spelling, while offering a safe place for children to go. Access to crayons and paper, something we think little of, also offers a creative outlet for these children to simply be children for a few hours each week.
Think back to your childhood. Like us, do you have fond memories of receiving your first library card? Exploring the now outdated card catalog, and being immersed into a world of words. We hope to share this world, at least in some small way, with children who otherwise would never enjoy the opportunity to travel the world through reading.
For just $25 a month, you can provide the gift of reading to more than a dozen children. Please join us in giving children the opportunity to explore the world through reading.
