The 9th Bulgarian Creative Writing Competition is underway. The registration of the interested schools happened in October 2018 and 173 schools registered. A lot of interesting materials for preparation of the students were sent to the teacher coordinator. British Council Bulgaria created a small toolkit for creative writing especially for the participants in this competition and t was very well accepted.
On November 27 and 28 over 4000 students had the opportunity to write for an hour on topics which were provided by the organizers ( for each grade from 6th till 12th there were 3 topics and the students could choose one to write on). The topics were interesting and provokative and they inspired the students to think creatively. here are some of the topics: "The nervous snowflake", "Just a smile away", "The man who sold the world" etc.
On January 12th 4 judging panels with over 60 judges/ volunteers worked hard to reviewall the works and select the 16 best in each age category.
The national jury will work on January 26th to select the top 3 works in each category. Teachers, poets, writers and experts in other fields (including native speakers) as members of the jury will have the pleasure to read the preselected works and come up with the list of winning works.
The award ceremony for the winners and their teachers will happen at the American university in Blagoevgrad on February 16th. All the participants will receive certificates and awards from the organizers.
