Bulgarian Creative Writing Competition

Aa every summer, CORPLUS foundation provided interesting opportunities for the young writers, who participated at the 11^th Bulgarian Creative Writing Competition to further developed their writing skills. Useful materials on creative writing were regularly uploaded on the Facebook page of the competition. Topics varied from “How to get started with the creative writing” (9 exercises) to “Technology writing prompts for kids”, “Sensational summer writing prompts for students”, “10 writing prompts that develop writing skills”, etc. The idea was to provoke the students to keep writing and explore new areas of their interests and life.

“Elizabeth Kostova” Foundation offered again summer training courses which were designed especially for students. They also offered opportunities for stipends for covering the registration fees. The students were supposed to send several previous works and based on their creativity and qualities the best were selected to receive those stipends.

Three specialized courses were offered to students: “Work with the fantastic” with Vladimir Poleganov, “The more things change the more we need…monsters. How do writers make invented magic seem real?” with Eireene Nealand and again like the previous summer – “Once upon a future” with Diana Petrova. The students had the chance the create their unique pieces of writing and to discuss them with the workshop facilitators and the other participants. That was a wonderful experience for the students and they could apply the new skills they acquired at the next edition of the Bulgarian creative writing competition.
