The 13th edition of the Bulgarian Creative Writing Competition is underway and it is getting closer to its final stage. The registration started on October 3rd and it was completed by October 25th. 147 schools registered for participation and over 3700 participants took part in the competition. For a second year we have an international participation – 127 students from Pakistan submitted their pieces of creative writing.
The writing days were organized on November 22nd and 23rd. The competition was organized online and the schools had the opportunity to choose one of the 2 dates and organize the writing hour. The students wrote on computers and the computer labs at their schools. They had an hour to write on topics provided by the organizers – 3 topics for each grade. They were unusual and provoked the creative and imaginary thinking of the students. The students really enjoyed them and among the most popular among them were: “Help! My life was hacked!”, “Are you coming too?”, “Memoirs of an old wig”, “The danger of playing with metaphors”, etc.
The first round of judging is planned for January 11th-17th and it will be organized offline. 56 Judges with expertise in different spheres but united by their love for reading and writing will select the best 18 works in each age category. The selected works will advance to the national round of judging which will happen online on January 20th and 22nd and the winners will be announced on January 23rd. The Award ceremony will be organized on January 11th in Sofia and all the winners and their teachers will be invited to be part of it.
