This project will enable 200 learners across all 10 provinces of Zimbabwe to participate in the National Business Case Competition. Over a space of 6 months, learners will be challenged to develop integrated solutions to Zimbabwe's most pressing business and economic issues. In doing this learners will gain practical problem solving skills and competencies necessary to create sustainable business solutions for themselves and the communities around them.
In Zimbabwe, economic challenges have seen youth unemployment rates rise and many youths relegated to the informal sector. School curricula fails to nurture the human potential necessary to aid to the advancement of the country's economy. For young people to actively participate in Zimbabwe's economy, they must have training to critically analyse and solve business problems in their communities. Nonetheless, financial constraints restrict access to such training for many rural schools.
This project will enable 200 learners from marginalised rural schools to gain access to business training. Over a period of 6 months, these learners will have access to global and local mentors and be provided with a platform to debate, analyze, and articulately present integrated business solutions to real world economic challenges in Zimbabwe, to a panel of industry leaders. Learners will be empowered to implement their business solutions in their communities while generating income.
Learners will develop critical thinking, problem solving and entrepreneurial skills necessary for creating business solutions to pressing challenges within their rural communities. Seed funding and global mentorship will be provided to ensure that business solutions are realized. Learners will also be provided with opportunities to shadow business leaders in various industries to get hands on experience.
