Low self-confidence and low self-awareness are two developmental problems of underprivileged children. These children are easily influenced by the environment and end up in behavioral deviations. The Mustard Seed Mission hosts Challenge Camp for underprivileged children to encourage them to self-explore, understand their own strengths and traits, and learn to well-work with others. Positive experiences learned from the Challenge Camp would drive them to value and treat themselves in a proper way
Underprivileged children without much positive family support often have problems with low self-achievement and self-awareness. We discover that the majority of them have both physical and psychological issues. Vulnerable children tend to have no confidence and no motivation for future goals. Moreover, they do not have much chance to learn and understand how to positively interact with others, which may cause a sense of isolation to them. These would drive them to mistreat themselves and others.
Summer camps offer underprivileged children a safe environment to learn positive social interactions by exploring. With activities like Rappelling, Hiking, and Marathon, children will encounter obstacles and reach their limitations. Through the overcome process, children will learn teamwork and gain courage and perseverance. In the camp, budget management will be taught to build up their good habits and attitudes to face future challenges!
Children will 1. Improve self-awareness and self-confidence. 2. Be encouraged to treasure themselves and show respect to others, and discover their talents and capabilities. 3. Gain positive interpersonal interaction experiences; learn teamwork and reconciliation. 4. Build characters and learn to share and take care of one another. A total of 420 children are benefited.
