Challenge

Despite the fact that Cassava & Palm Oil processing is majorly done by women & girls of the named rural communities. It is observed that the level of poverty among these target group is alarmingly high due to lack of income and productive resources sufficient to ensure a sustainable livelihood. This challenge emanated from crude method of processing their farm products, which is borne out of limited production output. The resultant effect is starvation, ill health & limited access to Education.

Solution

This project seeks to develop a cost effective method of cassava & palm oil processing by setting up in the rural communities, modern equipment for processing and packaging to the level of exportation. This project will eradicate the crude method of production and improve hygienic environment for standardised production. These women will be properly trained on processing and equipment maintenance. This will lead to skills enhancement and high productivity, thereby making the women self reliant.

Long-Term Impact

This project will bring about 100% Increase in the number of Women and Girls involved in Palm Oil and Cassava Processing, thereby creating job opportunities for other women and girls alike. It will also bring about improvement of standard of Living and well being of women and girls of the communities. There will be an increase in the income available to households, thereby creating better opportunities for education of the girl child. Increase in economic capacity will improve the voice of women
