Improving children's school performance

By Eveli | Project Leader

Dear donors,

In recent months, the children taking part in our school reinforcement program have increased from 20 to 35 and the local community is very supportive of our work. Many of the girls who come to our new headquarters take care of younger children and often come accompanied by a 3 or 4-year-old cousin or nephew. The girls told us that there is no one to leave them with at home and they are responsible for them. Unfortunately, at Ludoteca we do not have the necessary means to care for such young children and as a result, the rest could not focus on their schoolwork and their projects. Therefore, we had our first meeting with the mothers of the community and we explained the situation. The meeting went very well and since then, the girls come alone and are very happy to be able to perform their tasks and play with other girls their age. Tatiana is one of these girls: she is 8 years old and is in third grade, she is the oldest of three siblings and had was really struggling in mathematics. Thanks to the school support she received at Ludoteca, Tatiana has improved a lot in this course and is now motivated to obtain the first position in her class.

Thank you very much, dear donors, for your support! Without you we would not be able to achieve these great goals and improve the lives of the children in our community!
