Chennai floods have endangered Little Hearts Home

Thank you for your continued support of relief for those that are in greatest need after the Chennai Floods.

The flooding occurred very suddenly and without warning.  Many of those that died lost their lives at home, unable to escape the rapidly rising water, they were trapped in their own homes.

Radha has severe physical disabilities, she cannot walk and needs to be helped everywhere she goes.  As the waters rose, she was trapped in her home, her family began frantically calling friends for help.  They were carrying Radha as the water had risen over her head within the house.  Finally, a knock on the door, there outside their home was a row boat.  Friends had come to rescue Radha in her moment of desperation.

When they came home a few days later they found everything destroyed. All was list in the flooding.

Your generous gift allowed them to restore their home to livability.    A big smile and a small tear graced Radha’s face as she expressed her sincere thanks for your wonderful gifts.

Thank you for your continued support.  Your support has allowed us to restore the lives of those living in the Little Hearts Home to a level of normalcy.

As we helped those with losses we discovered that there were a number of people with physical disabilities whose lives had been severely affected.  Their needs were well beyond a bedroll, a bag of rice or a cooking vessel.  They had lost a wheelchair, the access to the home had been washed away, or because of their immobility they had lost everything escaping only with their life.

Because of your generosity we identified these special people and provided them with specific help that met their individual needs.  The task to meet the needs of thousands was overwhelming, but your generosity meant that the lives of individuals who were at greatest need were also met.

Through your continued generosity were able to go into the homes of ten families that had no hope and provide the change that allowed them to thrive after the flooding.
